Departments & Committees

The Greater Muskegon Woman's Club offers a variety of Departments and Committees to fit your interests.

Departments

General Club - a great gathering place to meet members, old and new, learn about the history of the club, and discover upcoming events.

The Arts - takes pride in finding enriching programs that promote fine music and art to enhance our community, homes, and lives. In addition, this group provides various literature and poetry readings along with workshops throughout the year. If you are a drama diva or a mystery book lover, join us for an exciting and fulfilling experience.

American Home - presides over our newly refurbished tea room. It is our plan to also present culinary classes and etiquette classes. Join us if you enjoy excellence in the domestic arts.

Evening Department - a networking and friendship group primarily for working women. This group supervises many of the Club's fundraising activities and supports service projects in the Muskegon area.

Committees

Each committee is dedicated to the mission and vision of the Greater Muskegon Woman's Club. Every member has talents and skills that benefit our Club; all members are urged to participate in at least one committee and to volunteer to serve the Club as time and resources allow.

Finance - Subcommittees are Treasurer, Insurance oversight, Strategic Planning, and Ways & Means (supervises the fund raising activities of the Club). Currently we have a Capital Campaign in process that is responsible for promoting and overseeing the raising of capital funds for renovating our historic clubhouse.

House & Grounds - beautifies our grounds with lovely flowers and oversees the maintenance and decorating of our club building. Subcommittees are: Club Rentals and Hall of Fame.

Communications - Subcommittees are Newsletter, Website, Yearbook, and Publicity.

Activities - with its subcommittees: Philanthropy/Community Service (selects a different charity for which to collect at our monthly general meetings and considers special project requests), Hospitality (provides greeters at and callers for membership meetings), Club History, and Social. Our Departments (American Home, Evening, Literature & Drama, and Music and Arts) also fall under this committee.
